From budget-friendly coil spacers to fully articulating systems — the best lift kits for the Wrangler JK at every price point.
For 33" tires (the most common JK upgrade): a 2.5–3" lift is all you need. For 35" tires you want 3.5–4" and a quality set of control arms. Going beyond 4" without extended control arms introduces significant caster and driveline angle problems — save the money and do it right.
Basic kits include springs/spacers and shocks. Mid-range kits add control arm geometry corrections and sway bar disconnects. Premium systems like the MetalCloak Game Changer rebuild the entire suspension geometry for maximum articulation and on-highway stability.
Both are viable. The Rough Country 3.5" N3 kit includes shocks and is a true complete kit at a budget price. The Teraflex 3" Budget Boost is a coil spacer lift — cheaper but requires new shocks separately. If you want 33" tires and a complete kit, Rough Country wins on value.
The Game Changer is not a lift kit you buy because you need lift — it's one you buy because you want the best-articulating street-legal JK in the trailhead parking lot. The dual-rate coils eliminate the traditional trade-off between rock-crawling compliance and highway composure. If you're running 37s and doing technical trails, there's no better system available.
